About this scholarship

A fully funded master's in China Studies at Peking University in Beijing. It is open to anyone who is not a Chinese citizen, and a bachelor's degree in any subject is enough.

Funding type

Covers: tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend, one round trip to Beijing, basic medical insurance and research costs in the first year. The programme is two years and the fellowship is for the first year. You can apply for a second-year fellowship if you stay in Beijing and keep good grades.

Language requirements and exemptions

Language test required IELTS 7 TOEFL iBT 100 Cambridge English Waiver possible

IELTS Academic 7.0, TOEFL iBT 100 or Cambridge Advanced 185. You don't need it if English is your first language or your degree was taught in English. The test must be taken after 1 September 2025 and sent by the test centre directly. The Chinese language course is compulsory for international students.

Admission included in application?

One application covers both admission and the scholarship, and the Academy makes the choice. The programme is two years. If your university is a Partner University of the Academy, you must first go through its own selection.

Application steps

Create an account on the Academy admissions portal. Fill in the form and upload your documents in English. Ask two professors in your field for recommendation letters. Submit before 30 November 2026, 9:00 am Beijing time.
