VISTEC Full Scholarships for Master's and PhD Study in Thailand, Admission 2027

About this scholarship

Everyone admitted to VISTEC, a graduate institute in Rayong, Thailand, gets a full scholarship for an M.Eng. or a PhD in science and engineering. There is no separate scholarship application.

Funding type

Covers: university fees, on-campus housing, a monthly stipend of up to THB 20,000, research budget support of up to THB 500,000, and study equipment support of up to THB 30,000. VISTEC puts the full value at up to THB 5 million. PhD students also get THB 1 million to do research abroad for up to one year. After enrolment, strong PhD students can apply for the Royal Srimedhi Scholarship, which adds THB 1 million and allows up to 2 years of research abroad. VISTEC's education page gives the stipend as THB 15,000 to 20,000 a month. The dormitory section of the admission site's scholarship page says students pay accommodation and common area fees and their water and electricity, while the admission FAQ says the dormitory is covered except utilities, so ask the admission team what you will pay. There is no obligation to work for anyone after graduation.

An official TOEFL, IELTS or CU-TEP score is required for all students, and the admission committee takes it into account. The current admission page gives no minimum score.

University admission details

Admission included in application?

There is no separate scholarship application. All admitted students receive the full scholarship. Applications are open from 1 October 2026 to 15 February 2027. The time of day is not stated. Shortlisted applicants are told on 22 February 2027 and sit an interview and a written exam on 27 February 2027. Results are announced on 31 March 2027. Programmes: M.Eng. and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomolecular Science and Engineering, and Information Science and Technology. All are international programmes on campus. The admission page does not give the start date of study or say whether the interview can be taken online.

Application steps

Choose one or two programmes from the four schools: MSE, ESE, BSE and IST. Create an account on the VISTEC admission portal and fill in the form. Upload your CV and transcript, and add the statement of purpose, the recommendation letters and the English score before the interview day. Submit before 15 February 2027 and watch for the interview notice on 22 February 2027.
