VCUarts Qatar Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2027/2028

About this scholarship

A merit scholarship of up to 40,000 US dollars a year for new first-year students in the art and design undergraduate programmes at VCUarts Qatar. Up to five are awarded each year, and the page says it mainly supports international students. There is no separate scholarship application.

To be considered for the scholarship: TOEFL iBT 94 or higher if taken before 21 January 2026, or 4.5 or higher if taken on or after that date. Or IELTS 7.0 or higher. Or Duolingo 130 to 135. General admission minimums are lower: IELTS 6.0, Duolingo 105. Native English speakers and passport holders of the US, UK, Australia and Canada are exempt (admissions FAQ).

Admission included in application?

There is no separate scholarship application. Everyone who applies to an undergraduate programme is considered automatically. Applications open on 15 September and close on 15 January. The priority date is 15 November, for earlier decisions. The pages do not print the year, but the admissions page is marked as open for Fall 2027, so these are 15 September 2026 and 15 January 2027. Applicants who apply by the priority date get a decision by 15 January, and others by 1 April. Scholarship award letters are sent from April. Selection is based on academic and creative merit, with possible interviews and recommendation letters. Applications go through the Common Application, and portfolios through SlideRoom. The closing time of day is not stated.
