University admission details

Required before applying?

There are two steps: the admission application for a research degree through Sydney Courses, then the scholarship application form. A scholarship application is not assessed without an admission application. For research periods 3 and 4 of 2027 the deadline is 18 December 2026, and the table gives no time. Results start from 26 February 2027 and are final by 18 May 2027 for applicants from outside Australia. The deadline for research periods 1 and 2 of 2027 was 11 September 2026 and has passed. If you apply after a deadline you are considered automatically in the next round, as long as you are enrolled or you ask, before the next deadline, to defer your admission to a suitable research period. The round after that: 10 September 2027 for research periods 1 and 2 of 2028.
