For the master's: TOEFL iBT 80, TOEFL ITP 525 (550 for Law), PTE Academic 58 or IELTS 6.0 (6.5 for Law), no more than two years old. The pages for the MA in Islamic Studies, its Digital Islam track and the MA in Education in Educational Leadership ask for IELTS 6.5, so check your programme page. Native English speakers and graduates of English-medium universities are exempt. The MA in Turath Islam asks for an Arabic TOAFL score of 550, and native Arabic speakers and graduates of Arabic-medium universities are exempt.

University admission details

Required before applying?

Admissions opened on 23 September 2026 and the admissions deadline is 31 March 2027. The time of day is not stated. The page is titled Admissions 2026/2027 and does not give the month study starts. UIII's academic calendar shows its 2025/2026 year starting in September 2025. Selection has an administrative check, a file review and an interview between 4 January and 14 April 2027. Letters of acceptance are issued between 19 and 22 April 2027. The scholarship application runs from 22 to 29 April 2027 for applicants with an unconditional letter of acceptance, and results are announced on 30 April 2027. You can apply to one programme only. Family members cannot get the same scholarship if one of them is already studying at UIII, or apply for it in the same academic year. UIII also lists the INSANI scholarship, funded by the Indonesian government, for students from Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Morocco and other countries, but its published dates are from 2026, so wait for the new round.

Application steps

Choose one master's programme from the list covered by the scholarship. Apply on the UIII admissions portal and pay the USD 50 registration fee before 31 March 2027. Attend the interview if you are invited. After the unconditional letter of acceptance, apply for the scholarship from the Scholarships menu of the portal between 22 and 29 April 2027.
