Not specified Fully funded?

About this scholarship

A scholarship for international and domestic students admitted to a graduate research degree, a research master's or a doctorate, at the University of Melbourne, for the 2027 intake. There is no scholarship form, and applying for the degree is enough.

Funding type

Covers: a full tuition fee offset for up to 4 years for a doctorate or 2 years for a research master's, a living allowance of AUD 41,100 a year (2027 full-time rate) paid fortnightly and pro rata for up to 3.5 years for a doctorate or 2 years for a research master's, a one-off relocation allowance of AUD 3,000 for students moving from outside Australia, and single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for students on a student visa. The page gives the total value as 100% fee remission and up to AUD 138,000, and says the allowance includes limited paid sick and parental leave. About 350 scholarships are offered, which the page calls indicative.

University admission details

Admission included in application?

Apply for a graduate research course through the university's online portal before the date on the course page. You are considered for the scholarship automatically, and you get a confirmation within seven days of applying. There is no single scholarship deadline. Dates differ by faculty and course. Some faculties assess applications at any time and others in fixed rounds. For example, the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences has 2027 rounds on 31 October 2026, 31 January 2027 and 15 May 2027, and says most scholarships go in the first two rounds. An incomplete application at the date is not assessed in that round. Scholarship offers with a stipend are made separately from course offers, at around the same time.
