University admission details

Admission included in application?

There is no application outside the Oxford form. You select the Ertegun scholarship in the funding section of the graduate application and upload the supporting statement with it. The deadline is 12:00 noon UK time on 5, 7 or 26 January 2027, depending on the course. For example, Asian and Middle Eastern Studies and the MSt in English close on 5 January, the DPhil in History on 7 January, and Japanese Studies, the MSc in Contemporary Chinese Studies and the MSc in Modern South Asian Studies on 26 January. If your course has an earlier deadline, apply by that date. In exceptional cases you can upload a placeholder and send the supporting statement to Graduate Admissions by the January deadline. Applications after the January deadline are not considered for the scholarship. The application fee depends on the course, for example GBP 75 for the MSt in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies and GBP 20 for the DPhil in History. A waiver is possible for applicants from low-income countries and for refugees and displaced people who meet the criteria. First offers are made by the end of March, and selection ends by the end of April. Only successful candidates are told, by email.
