University of Oxford, Clarendon Fund · Application cycle 2027/2028
Around 200 new fully funded scholarships each year for a master's or DPhil at the University of Oxford, open to all nationalities and all subjects. There is no separate application, because every application for a new master's or DPhil made by the December or January deadline is considered.
Covers: course fees in full, and for full-time students an annual living grant of at least the UK minimum doctoral stipend (UKRI). The page gives GBP 20,780 or more for 2025/2026 and does not give the 2027/2028 amount. Part-time students receive a study support grant worth a sixth, a third or a half of that rate, depending on the course. The scholarship normally lasts for the period in which course fees are charged. Does not cover: continuation charges after the fee period.

There is no scholarship application. Apply for a master's or DPhil course before the December or January deadline of the course, and your application is considered for the scholarship. Each course has its own deadline, so there is no single deadline for the Fund. Find it on the course page. Departments nominate their best applicants, then the academic divisions choose the winners in February and March. Most first offers are sent by the end of April. Unsuccessful applicants are not contacted. If you have not heard by mid-June, assume you did not receive the scholarship. The application fee is GBP 75 for taught courses and GBP 20 for research courses, and fee waiver schemes exist.
