Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden · Application cycle 2027/2028
Three scholarships that lower the tuition fee for master's students from outside the EU and the EEA at Chalmers. You apply for them with one form on the scholarship portal, and the Adlerbert country list names the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Covers: a reduction of the tuition fee for 4 semesters, the full two year programme. Avancez and IPOET lower the fee by 75%, and Adlerbert lowers it by 100%. With Avancez and IPOET the reduction can rise to 85% in the second year for students who do very well in the first year. No money is paid to the winner, and the reduction is taken off the invoice. Does not cover: living costs, or the remaining 25% of the fee with Avancez and IPOET. From 2027/2028 the fee for most programmes is SEK 95,000 a semester, which is SEK 380,000 for two years. Three design programmes cost SEK 135,000 a semester. The page gives the 2026 numbers: about 33 IPOET scholarships and four Adlerbert scholarships. The number of Avancez scholarships is set each year, and the 2027 numbers are not stated. The Swedish Migration Agency asks for proof of funds for a student residence permit. Chalmers states the requirement as SEK 10,656 a month for 13 months, and the amount doubles for a two year permit. The percentages, numbers and field rules on the Chalmers page still describe the 2026 round. Check them again when the scholarship portal opens in late November 2026.

The scholarship portal is open from late November 2026 to mid January 2027. The page says its deadline matches the programme deadline, so we use 15 January 2027. The exact closing day of the portal is not stated. The deadline to pay the application fee and upload documents is 1 February 2027. If you have not paid or not uploaded every document, your scholarship application is not considered. Admission results are on 1 April 2027. Scholarship results are sent by email between mid March and late April 2027, and you confirm by the date in the offer. The first semester fee is due on 1 May 2027, and you can ask for an extension if you are waiting for the scholarship decision. Winners keep the scholarship only under the conditions in the Chalmers Scholarship Regulations, which are linked on the scholarship page. A scholarship can be revoked if you change programme.
