About this scholarship
A scholarship from Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan for international students admitted to its bachelor's programmes. It covers tuition, basic medical insurance and a monthly stipend. Applications for 2027/2028 are open now.

Students who do not get it may be given a citizenship-based scholarship that pays 50 to 90 percent of tuition. Bachelor's tuition is USD 15,000 a year for 2026/2027. IELTS 6.0 overall with 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in reading, listening and speaking, or the equivalent TOEFL iBT score. The test must be taken in person at a test centre, so IELTS Online and TOEFL iBT Home Edition are not accepted. The result must be valid on 1 August 2027 and sent to NU by the test centre.

There are two steps. First, the regular admission application on admissions.nu.edu.kz, with a fee of 10,000 tenge, or 30,000 tenge in the last two weeks before the deadline. Second, a separate financial support application after you receive an offer. The FAQ page says international students are considered for the scholarship when the admissions committee recommends them, while the 2027/2028 announcement asks for a separate financial support application after the offer. Dates: applications are open now on a rolling basis. For applicants who need a visa before entering Kazakhstan, the deadline is not announced yet. For applicants who can get a visa on arrival, the period runs from October 2026 to August 2027. The financial support deadline is not announced yet. The last test dates accepted for financial support are 5 December 2026 for the SAT and 28 November 2026 for the ACT. These tests must be taken in person at a test centre, and scores from different sittings are not combined. The academic year starts on 1 August 2027.

Application steps
Create an account on admissions.nu.edu.kz and choose the undergraduate programmes. Fill in the form, upload the documents and pay the application fee. Ask the test centre to send your IELTS or TOEFL result, and your SAT or ACT result, to NU. When you get an admission offer, do not accept it. Submit the financial support application in the Admission Results section of your account and choose your category. Check the NU website for the deadlines once they are announced.
