Aalborg University in Denmark · Application cycle 2027/2028
A scholarship financed by the Danish government and given by Aalborg University to selected master's students from outside the EU and the EEA. About 15 are given a year, and there is no separate application.
Covers: the tuition fee, and a monthly stipend for living costs during the four semesters of the master's. The stipend announced for new students in 2026 is DKK 11,225 (EUR 1,503) a month, and the 2027 rate is not announced. You may have to pay tax on the stipend, and the university says it may not cover all your living costs. The stipend is paid once you have a CPR number, a NemKonto account and are registered with the tax authority, and it may be paid retroactively. No stipend is paid after the first two years if your studies run longer.

You cannot apply for the scholarship separately. Apply for a master's at the university, and every applicant from outside the EU is considered. The decision comes in a separate letter in the portal by the beginning of July at the latest. The deadline for the September intake for fee-paying applicants is 15 January at 23:59 Central European time. The portal opens in mid-December. The page gives the day and month without the year, and the next 15 January is in 2027. The answer on admission comes before 10 April. If you have no Danish residence permit, the last date for uploading documents that meet the admission requirements is 20 April. If you pay tuition and then receive the scholarship, the tuition is refunded. Some programmes do not start in September, so check your programme's page.
