What we collect
You can browse scholarships, deadlines and the glossary without an account and without giving us anything but the usual server logs. When you create an account we store your name, email address, chosen language and password, held as a hash we cannot reverse.
Inside the workspace we store what you put there: saved scholarships, applications and their status history, checklist progress, notes, your academic profile and the files you upload. Server logs keep the IP address, browser and request time for security and debugging.
Your documents
Files you upload are private to your account. They are never listed in the directory or shared with funding organizations. A team member can open a student's records only with a dedicated permission, and every such view is recorded. Deleting a file removes it and its earlier versions.
The weekly email, error reports and shared numbers
The weekly email keeps the address you gave, the language you asked for, when you confirmed it, and which issues were sent to it, so nobody receives the same one twice. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link, and leaving removes you from the list.
When you report an error in a listing we keep what you wrote, the page it was about, the address you gave if you gave one, and a keyed hash of your IP address, so repeated reports can be recognised. Reports staff have finished with are removed after the retention period below.
“Others also applied to” is counted from students tracking a scholarship here, is shown only once enough of them are, and is rounded, so no number points at one person. Your recent searches stay in your own browser and are never sent to us.
Cookies
The site sets only the cookies it needs to work: one for your session and sign-in, and one that remembers the language you chose. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when a page loads.
How we use it
- To run your account and show your applications, documents and deadlines.
- To send the reminders and notifications you have not turned off.
- To keep the service secure and to investigate abuse.
- To keep a record of changes to accounts and listings, so a mistake can be traced and undone.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not run advertising or third-party tracking scripts.
How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Account and workspace content | Until you delete it |
| Deleted files and versions | Removed at once; backup copies expire within 30 days |
| Server and security logs | 90 days |
| Error reports staff have closed | The period the team sets, or kept while none is set |
| Addresses that never confirmed | The period the team sets, or kept while none is set |
Your choices
From your workspace you can update your academic profile, change your language, turn reminders off per scholarship, and delete your account. Deleting the account removes your applications, documents and notes at once.
